—— About us ——
Welcome to Polo & Unni’s home page
This is just a little bit of background about us and what we get up to. Polo – or Mark if he’s in trouble – is a Chartered Electronics Engineer based in Chippenham, Wiltshire in the beautiful West Country of England. For over 30 years he has worked at Siemens Rail Automation – previously called Westinghouse Signals and then Invensys Rail – on projects all over the world. Unni is originally from the top end of Norway, but has lived in England since 1997. Before moving Unni was a hotel manager in Oslo.
Unni’s daughter, Tone, and granddaughter Caroline still live in Oslo with Karl – they all look after each other. We still travel back to Scandinavia, particularly Norway, when we can – and we enjoy visiting our family in Oslo and Unni’s brother Rolf Simon. Rolf lives in Honningsvåg – the last town before North Cape and the top of Europe.
Besides the Norwegians the family is completed by Pol’s parents Derek and Celia. When we can we spend time together enjoying the beautiful countryside in which we live.
—— Polunnio ——
We have our own little business – Polunnio – (Polo + Unni mixed up!). Originally started as a means of publishing the industrial history of our local area, it’s grown a bit and we now carry out design, layout and typeset work.
Nowadays we have one medium-sized contract that keeps Polo busy when he’s not in a tin shed doing the day-job, and the occasional other little project to keep the nice computers, cameras and software paid for.

—— Blog ——
We keep a little blog going, letting us share the beautiful places that we’re lucky enough to visit with our friends and family. We love taking photographs, but there tend to be a disproportionate number of photos of boats, furry things and water.
